Amulet Launches Plug & Play Evaluator Kit for Varitronix LCD

Campbell, CA (PRWEB) July 29, 2011

Amulet Technologies, a recognized leader in graphical user interface solutions, launched today a new plug & play LCD Evaluator Kit for a 3.5 QVGA TFT (320×240) display from Varitronix. With this partnership agreement, Amulet and Varitronix are expanding Amulets LCD Evaluator Program, the industrys first program to provide plug & play graphical user interface (GUI) reference designs for individual LCD displays from multiple LCD vendors. As the newest Amulet LCD Evaluator Program partner, Varitronix can now provide customers with real time evaluation and prototyping of GUI displays, shortening the time to market to as little as one month.

The Varitronix LCD Evaluator Kit announced today (EVK-VX-COG-T350MCQV-03) includes all of the hardware and software required to turn an LCD display into a smartphone-like graphical user interface, including Amulets controller board powered by Amulets GEM Graphical OS Chip for color displays, an integrated evaluation board (EVB) optimized for a specific display, USB cable, stylus and a 30-day trial license of GEMstudio.

Getting started is as easy as connecting the Varitronix display with the controller board in the kit and powering it on. Using Amulets GEMstudio GUI design software, engineers and graphic designers alike can easily create an impressive looking GUI for their embedded application. Designs are directly portable to production with no additional coding required for the user interface, resulting in a faster time-to-market and reduced development costs.

According to Kenneth Sung, Sales Manager at Varitronix USA, Our long standing tradition here has always been, and continues to be, servicing the display needs of our valued customers. The collaboration with Amulet Technologies on the 3.5 TFT Evaluator Program has added to our continuing path of success.

We are very pleased to be partnering with Varitronix and supporting their 3.5 panel in our LCD Evaluator Program. This kit, which includes the Varitronix display, makes developing a user interface even faster for customers embedding a GUI into their application stated Jim Todd, Sales Director at Amulet Technologies.

Designers can now purchase kits in conjunction with the 3.5 Varitronix LCD from Digi-Key. For more information, visit http://www.AmuletTechnologies.com/varitronix.html

About GEMstudio Trial License

The patented design tool, GEMstudio makes it easy to import stunning graphics and 3D visual effects and bind them to any of the view and control objects in Amulets popular widget library. The powerful image-importing engine; allows designers to create graphical content and layered graphic effects in their tool of choice, then simply drag and drop them into a GEMstudio workspace for creating reusable, resizable GUI components. The software tool comes pre-loaded with a library of expertly crafted images and GUI components that are ready to use out of the box. The page layout and alignment tools can then be used by the designer to drag and drop their way to a beautiful embedded GUI. A 30-day trial of GEMstudio ships with all LCD Evaluator Kits.
