Behlman Introduces Ultra-Rugged VME-1000 Power Supply Series For Mission-Critical VME Workstation Applications

Hauppauge, NY (PRWEB) March 8, 2006

Behlman Electronics Inc., known for its leadership in providing power products for industrial, commercial and military applications, has introduced the Behlman VME-1000 Work Station Power Supply Series for VME-enabled work stations.

VME-1000 power supplies offer low-cost COTS and modified COTS solutions for VME-based mission-critical applications, ranging from command/control and tactical military systems to data acquisition, simulation and training systems. These power supplies also have broad applications in many industrial and commercial markets. All units in the VME-1000 series are switch-mode, five-output power supplies, ruggedized for high reliability and extreme survivability.

Our VME-1000 power supplies have proven themselves in challenging environments, including those experienced in the Wedgetail aircraft program, explained Behlman Vice President of Sales and Marketing Ron Storm. Theyre the ideal low-cost, high-performance solution for powering VME-based computer workstations, microprocessor-type devices, displays and disc drives, as well as for other applications in systems using VME-type chassis.

The VME-1000 series features a wide-range input of 85-265 VAC, 47-440 Hz, Power Factor Corrected, and can supply up to 1000 watts of regulated DC power. Standard outputs are +3.3 V, +5 V, +12 V, -12 V plus a +5 VDC standby. Optional voltages are available. For higher power requirements, multiple VME-1000 units can be paralleled. VME-1000 power supplies feature inrush current limiting, and include short-circuit, over-current, thermal, and over-voltage protection. The units are fan-cooled, and operate from -40 C to +50C (-40 F to +122 F) and to +85 C (185 F) with derating. Storage temperature range is from -40 C to +100 C (-40 F to +212 F).

Behlmans rugged VME-1000 Work Station Power Supply Series is designed to withstand the rigors of airborne, shipboard and mobile applications, and is designed to meet MIL-STE-461, MIL-STD-704, MIL-STD-810, MIL-S-901, MIL-STD-167 and RCTA/DO-160 specifications. Prices start as low as $ 3,995, and delivery is 120 days.
