Beige Bag Software Donates $50,000 of its B2 Spice Circuit Simulation Software to Colleges and Universities

Ann Arbor, MI (PRWEB) September 13, 2005

Beige Bag Software (http://www.beigebag.com) has donated over $ 50,000 in software to colleges and universities under its new educational software donation program. The program provides electrical engineering professors with free software and provides colleges and universities with free network licenses for their computer labs. The software being provided by this program is the fully functional professional version.

“Beige Bag Software is pleased to be able to provide an alternative to high-priced circuit simulation software,” said Jon Engelbert, president of Beige Bag Software. Beige Bag, long a leader in the educational use of Spice software has incorporated a number of features in their software to aid in teaching, including interactive virtual instruments, cross Probing that interactively updates the graph as you add or move the probes around the circuit, schematic animation, and the ability to change parameters while running the simulation. These features, along with B2 Spice’s easy to use interface and short learning curve allow students to spend less time struggling with the software interface and more time learning.

Computer lab licenses are valid for one-year and include all maintenance and upgrade releases for the year. If a school wants to purchase permanent licenses for the standard educational pricing, Beige Bag will include a two-year upgrade subscription at no additional charge.

In addition to free licenses for professors and computer labs, Beige Bag Software has begun to offer free, customized textbook editions, discounted student licenses, alumnae discounts, and most importantly prides itself on giving every college and university personalized attention. Of interest to those who have not for profit uses for electronic simulation software but are not educational institutions, Beige Bag has also introduced deeply discounted non-profit licenses.

This program is open to all accredited two and four-year college or university in the United States and Canada.

“We have been extremely pleased by the initial response to this program and hope to give away additional software in the coming months,” said David Annis, CEO of Beige Bag. “It’s really a good feeling to be able to give back to the educational community.”
