The first Global Organized Retail Crime (ORC) Conference will be hosted March 25-26, 2013 at the Bellagio Hotel in Las Vegas by Universal Surveillance Systems LLC (USS), the largest privately held manufacturer of loss prevention technology in the United States.
The one and a half day conference will feature numerous in-depth educational, interactive presentations by renowned retail loss prevention, law enforcement, prosecutorial, judicial and legislative authorities that will examine all aspects of organized retail crime including theft methods, trends, prevention, investigation, legislation and working with law enforcement.
The Global ORC Conference was created to fill the need for an event focused on ways to combat the growing incidence of organized retail crime that now affects over 95 percent of retailers according to recent surveys. The Congressional Research Service reported that organized retail crimes are estimated to cost retailers, consumers and taxing authorities up to $ 37 billion annually.
Ron Koziol, former FBI Supervisory Special Agent and Program Manager for ORC Initiatives, said, Retailers are being continually plummeted from the growing incidence of organized retail crime. Methods of theft are becoming increasingly sophisticated, and the need to pool resources to combat this significant problem as an industry is critical. I look forward to this gathering of experts and the exchange of ideas and solutions on a global level.

Planned speakers will include some of the most renowned ORC experts from around the world. The conference keynote speaker will be either former Mayor Rudolph Giuliani or General Colin Powell, which will be selected by a vote of the conference attendees.
