Leica Geosystems today announced v7.0 of its class-leading PaveSmart 3D (LMGS-S) machine control system for concrete paving applications. With v7.0, LMGS-S now additionally supports Guntert & Zimmerman (G&Z) S600, S850 and S1500 mainline concrete pavers. 3D machine control solutions are also available for G&Zs PS1200 placer spreader.
Leica Geosystems will unveil LMGS-S v7.0 at ConExpo 2011, Las Vegas, USA between 22-26th March, alongside its continually expanding range of innovative construction machine control and site positioning technologies, including the next phase of its revolutionary SP sensor technology for bulldozers.
Designed specifically for concrete paving applications, LMGS-Ss unique features and capabilities allow slipform paving contractors to reap the significant productivity and precision benefits of 3D paving technology from the outset. Building on Leicas unmatched worldwide experience in delivering 3D machine control solutions for mainline concrete paving applications to the highway, aviation, rail and tunnel paving segments since 1999, Leica Geosystems has worked with the engineering team at G&Z to provide a plug-and-pave interface to G&Z pavers.
G&Z microcontrollers new Direct Connect CAN-Bus interface provides seamless integration of Leica Geosystems machine control an easy-to-use, high-performance, robust and safety-focused solution, allowing paving contractors to completely remove the cost, effort and logistical problems associated with traditional stringline setting for slipform paving applications, whilst maintaining and enhancing the optimal concrete surface smoothness demanded by todays infrastructure developers.
