Mouser has done an outstanding job of developing new relationships for us with design engineers and other product specifiers we were not previously reaching, said Mike Perlman, ZiLOGs Vice President of Business Marketing & Worldwide Distribution. The next logical step is to expand our reach by globally capitalizing on their unique customer base.
According to Mouser President Glenn Smith, the global expansion with ZiLOG is in keeping with the distributors business model of bringing the most innovative products and the latest technologies to its customers. Additionally, Mousers customer base of well over 100,000 business accounts is unique and diverse — often including customers other distributors dont serve.
Were very excited about expanding globally with ZiLOG, Smith said. Our two companies have great synergy. ZiLOG is a real innovator in microcontrollers, and were pleased that our performance in quickly introducing their new products to engineers has resulted in this expansion to a global relationship.
Mousers customers are primarily working at the design-in and prototyping stage of the design cycle and are comprised of a wide range of small, medium and large companies, universities and engineering consultants who recommend, specify and purchase board-level components for product designs.
