New Your Merchants Protective Co. Launches New Interactive Video Surveillance Systems

Freeport, NY (PRWEB) April 14, 2010

New York Merchants Protective Co., Inc., the 100-year-old leader in home & business security, is pleased to announce a new line of interactive surveillance systems for businesses and commercial properties.

NYMPC’s new service, WatchMyBusiness (WMB), will combine advanced video & audio systems with live monitoring from central-station operators to offer businesses better insight, and control, over all activity at their properties.

The WMB program represents the next generation of security systems, says Mark Fischer, executive vice president and chief technology officer at NYMPC. These systems offer far greater capabilities than a simple alarm, CCTV system, or access control. By combining these technologies, NYMPC has developed a line of interactive security products with eyes and ears. The melding of these formally independent systems into unified security products provides superior protection, higher reliability, and faster ROI due to reduced installation and maintenance costs, as compared to independently installed systems.

Using WMB’s event-driven monitoring technology, trained central-station operators are able to see the exact cause of an alarm. When necessary, operators can also communicate by audio with anyone at the property, whether it be intruders, loiterers or after-hours personnel.

In the case of an actual incident, the WMB central station operator can provide authorities with not only standard dispatch information, but also a detailed description of the intruder, as well as an electronic record of the incident. WMB systems eliminate false dispatches, as operators can survey the property and determine when authorities are not needed.

Property managers and business-owners can also access real-time streaming video of their properties from virtually anywhere in the world using an Internet-connected PC or Web-enabled phone.

WMB technology can be used as a standalone system or in conjunction with onsite security personnel at storage lots, loading areas, office complexes and many other facilities. The surveillance systems can also be used to add value and control costs at multi-tenant commercial or residential facilities that do not have a full-time doorman or guard. Real-time access-control and live monitoring enables off-hours access for tenants and can provide package reception services for deliveries when tenants are not available.

Other security systems are simply reactive, but what makes WMB different is that it’s proactive, says Fischer. Instead of simply viewing an incident after it has already occurred, our systems can help control a situation as it is occurring and prevent it as well.
