Planetweb’s Digital Photo Manager, an integral application on the SpectraWorks software platform, is available on Silicon Optix’s Realta HQV™ fully programmable video processing engine.

SpectraWorks application software includes digital photo management, digital audio management and personal video recording. With Digital Photo Manager, consumers can preview thumbnails, view high resolution full-screen photos (including the ability to zoom, pan and rotate photos), and enjoy personalized slide shows of their JPEG format digital photos from memory cards, digital cameras or other USB storage devices.

“Planetweb is the first third party software company to take advantage of the power of Realta’s programmable platform,” said Dennis Crespo, VP of Marketing, Silicon Optix. “SpectraWorks is a proven software platform with applications that enable consumer electronics manufacturers to rapidly differentiate their products from their competitors.”

“We’re excited to combine the impressive image processing capabilities of Silicon Optix’s Realta HQV video processor with the award-winning Digital Photo Manager,” said Ken Soohoo, President and CEO of Planetweb.

The Digital Photo Manager was on display during CEDIA Expo 2005 at the Silicon Optix 13,000 sq. ft. HQV exhibition in the Grand Hall at the Crowne Plaza Hotel Union Station. Silicon Optix will include a demonstration version of the Digital Photo Manager and Planetweb’s SpectraBuilder user interface development tool in Realta-based reference designs beginning October 2005.

SpectraWorks Enriches User Experience and Improves OEMs Time to Market.

Digital Photo Manager is built with the SpectraWorks platform for Consumer Electronics applications, which gives Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEM) an unprecedented ability to rapidly develop and customize both applications and Graphical User Interfaces for any consumer electronics device. With the SpectraBuilder User Interface development tool and SpectraCore software engine, an OEM can develop a unique platform independent user experience with strong branding in a fraction of the time it would take using conventional methods while ensuring a consistent look and feel across multiple devices or product lines. More than one million units of Digital Photo Manager have shipped to date through industry leading OEM brands.
