Procura Licenses the Use of Industry Leading Clinical Content

Victoria, BC (PRWEB) March 26, 2012

Being the owner of several Home Care solutions has its benefits, especially when the respective strengths of each solution complement one another. Procura announced today that an intercompany licensing arrangement has been agreed upon, where the clinical content from Progresa Health Systems documentation solution, recognized as one of the best in Home Care, has been embedded into the Procura software line. In October 2007, Procura purchased Progresa from 3M, who invested significantly in the clinical intellectual property found in the solution today.

Progresas Clinical Content was built by, maintained by, and continues to evolve via the input of nurses and other clinicians who have Health Informatics backgrounds, says Warren Brown, President of the Procura Group of Companies. Having this clinical viewpoint ensures that any and all changes reflect an ongoing improvement in outcomes-based charting that speaks to what clinicians require at the point-of-care. Capitalizing on this asset for the use of our other product lines has always been a part of our vision, which is why we have established the content licensing arrangement.

This arrangement establishes protocols for porting clinical content from Progresa to the Procura Home Care solution. Procuras design philosophy is to build content designers, where our customers select content from a repository and then adapt/update that content according to their view of how it should look and operate, says Scott Overhill, Vice President of Product Management, Many customers embrace this concept, which is why we are working with Progresa to make the clinical content available within Procura. Delivered within Procuras Electronic Health Record (EHR) charting view, we are streamlining clinical recordkeeping, making it more informative and accessible than ever before.

Going forward, downstream changes to either solution that continue to promote Best Practices and improve the clinicians experience will be maintained within both solutions.
