Raima, a premium provider of high performance database technology, today announced the release of Raima Database Manager (RDM) Workgroup version 11.
This is the first of two product releases of Raimas new RDM System. The RDM Workgroup edition is optimized for the Desktop and Server platforms including Windows, Linux, Mac OS, and UNIX operating systems. When used in conjunction with the soon to be released RDM Embedded and RDM Mobile, developers will then be able to develop software solution that span across the software market segments using a single database solution.
New technical features in the RDM Workgroup Edition
This release has added SQL functionality including User Defined Functions (UDFs) and SQL access to Raimas non-SQL databases.
UDFs allow developers to combine multiple SQL steps into a single function resulting in more efficient application code.
Customers preferring the speed and reliability of Raimas network model database can now perform ad-hoc SQL queries against these databases seamlessly and without any changes to existing code.
RDM Workgroup 11 includes the following interoperability capabilities:
New ADO.NET 4.0 provider
New ODBC 3.5 driver
New JDBC 4 Type 4 Driver
With the use of these drivers, third-party programs can remotely connect to RDM databases and applications can be easily created in additional managed code languages like C# and Java.
Availability
RDM Workgroup and RDM Workgroup Plus are available for Windows, Linux, MAC OS, Solaris, and UNIX.
