smxWiFi Supports Ralink RT5370 Wireless Chipset

Costa Mesa, CA (PRWEB) May 18, 2011

smxWiFiTM now supports the Ralink RT5370 chipset used in USB WiFi adapters. smxWiFi supports all current Ralink USB WiFi chipsets: RT2573, RT2870, RT3070, RT3572, and RT5370, and it supports the RT2760 PCI chipset. For maximum flexibility, all can be purchased and used in a system, and the proper one is selected at run-time when the WiFi adapter is plugged in.

smxWiFi provides the necessary software to easily add wireless connectivity to an embedded system. It is a robust, 802.11 Media Access Control (MAC) stack specifically designed and developed for embedded systems. (An 802.11 network is a wireless local area network (WLAN) that conforms to the 802.11 standards.) smxWiFi conforms to 802.11 a/b/g/i/n. It is a mature product, released in June 2008.

Due to the complexities of the 802.11 protocol, smxWiFi requires a multitasking environment; for this, it has been integrated with our SMX
