Schmartboard started shipping its original product in October 2003. The product addressed the need to use surface mount components and the novel concept of being able to work on circuit blocks and then connecting the blocks together using the patent pending SchmartBridge technology.
According to Neal Greenberg, Schmartboards VP Sales and Marketing, Over the 16 months that Schmartboard has been shipping, we have had a continuous dialogue with our customers to determine what needs must be addressed to make prototyping as easy and inexpensive as possible, Based on this input, we have spent money on R&D and have better defined our roadmap.
Schmartboard will release new products over 2005 that will address the concerns of Schmartboard users from industry, education, and the hobby market. We would like to beta-test many of these products before releasing them. This will allow us to determine to what degree we have addressed some of the stated prototyping issues.
