Two surprise TAP Recognition Awards were presented to honor organizations and schools for their commitment to TAP: The System for Teacher and Student Advancement. The TAP Award of Distinction honors organizations. The TAP School of Promise Award honors individual schools in early stages of implementation and comes with a $ 5,000 financial prize. The Awards were presented at luncheons Friday and Saturday, March 9 and 10, 2012, before more than 1,000 educators and policy leaders attending the 12th National TAP Conference: Building a System of Teacher Leaders.
