Free USB Function/Mini-Host Firmware now Available for Fujitsu MCU Microcontroller Series

Frankfurt (PRWEB) February 16, 2006

Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe (FME) announces the availability of USB Firmware for its MB90330/335 Flash microcontroller series, offering customers faster time to market at no extra cost. This high-quality hardware and software bundle can be used in applications where USB is required for functions including, software download, remote control, measurement and diagnostics.

The 16-bit MB90330/335 series is embedded with a set of USB macros, including the simplified USB Mini-Host, which allow USB devices to act as host or function, and thus directly communicate with each other without the mediation of a host PC. Other peripheral resources like ADC, USART, I2C and external bus interface are also available.

The USB function of MB90330/335 series supports 12Mbps Full-Speed data transfer, whereas the USB Mini-Host supports both 1.5Mbps Low-Speed and 12Mbps Full-Speed. Up to 6 endpoints are supported by the microcontroller, which provides the flexibility of most common transfer types, such as control, bulk, interrupt and isochronous.

The Firmware package consists of Fujitsu USB Firmware API, which manages the USB client function and USB standard requests, and the Fujitsu USB Mini-Host API, which controls the Mini-Host and enumeration.

The driver package was developed by Thesycon GmbH and can be downloaded free of charge from http://www.thesycon.de/eng/prod_usbfirmware.shtml
