Analog Devices Enables Hitachi Wireless Video Hub to Deliver Rich HD Entertainment to LCD HDTVs : – ADI’s Advantiv advanced television solutions enable Hitachi’s wireless video hub to deliver crystal-clear HD video content wirelessly to its ultra-thin Wooo UT flat-panel HDTVs.

NORWOOD, Mass. (PRWEB) May 29, 2008

ā€œAs demand for wireless digital entertainment increases, ADIā€™s signal processing technology plays an important role in helping Hitachi realize many of its pioneering ideas,ā€ said Bill Bucklen, director, Advanced Television Segment, Analog Devices. ā€œADIā€™s broad portfolio of audio and video signal processing solutions helped Hitachi deliver a compelling HD viewing experience for their Wooo UT LCD-TV customers.ā€

Hitachiā€™s TP-WL700H wireless unit, which employs UWB (ultra wide band) wireless technology, uses three Advantiv advanced television solutions ICs to provide enhanced HD video compression, decompression and transmission technology.

ā€œAnalog Devices is pleased to play a role in this revolutionary new technology that will shape the way consumers view wireless HD content on flat-panel TVs,ā€ said Bucklen. ā€œAs the HD video format continues to flourish, manufacturers such as Hitachi are taking advantage of the wide range of functions from our Advantiv advanced television solutions portfolio, whose high-performance, multiformat audio and video connectivity and processing solutions offer exciting new functionality.ā€

Hitachiā€™s wireless hub leverages several video and audio solutions from ADIā€™s Advantiv advanced television solutions portfolio. Analog Devicesā€™ ADV216 Wavescale compression technology video CODEC is a key enabler of high quality, wireless HD video. The CODECā€™s low-latency and scalable resolution produces stunning HD video without requiring external memory. ADIā€™s Wavescale compression technology significantly reduces the impact of errors that can occur during transmission, resulting in the delivery of flawless HD entertainment to a Wooo UT HDTV without running any new wires. The Hitachi TP-WL700H also leverages Analog Devicesā€™ wireless HDMI reference design that allows multiple entertainment HD sources to be connected wirelessly to a single Wooo UT HDTV.

Analog Devicesā€™ ADV7441A video decoder with integrated HDMI receiver and AD9389B HDMI and DVI (digital visual interface) transmitter enable Hitachiā€™s wireless unit to support high-resolution HDTV formats up to 1080i in addition to high fidelity audio formats.

With monitors as thin as 35 mm, Hitachi Wooo UT series flat-screen LCD HDTVs are available in three models, the 42-inch UT42-XV700, the 37-inch UT37-XV700, and 32-inch UT32-HV700B/W/R/A. All are compatible with Hitachiā€™s optional TP-WL700H wireless unit.
