Cimnet Systems, a Consona business unit and leading global supplier of enterprise resource planning (ERP) software and services for the printed circuit board (PCB) industry, today announced that AT&S, one of the world’s largest and most technically advanced producers of PCBs, selected Cimnet Systems’ Engenix, a pre-production engineering application, and the Direct Logix Control Center Solution, to become its enterprise-wide engineering automation solution. The PCB-specific software application will be implemented across all six of AT&S’s manufacturing facilities, spanning Austria, China, and India.
As Europe’s number-one producer of PCBs, AT&S’s uncompromising commitment to growth, customer service and business process optimization are leading the company to even greater prominence in the industry. In pursuit of this goal, AT&S sought a system to integrate its incoming processes and data seamlessly so that its facilities could engineer its products, ranging from single and double-sided to multilayer printed circuit boards, consistently, accurately and optimally.
Integration with Cimnet Systems’ open, fully scalable architecture, web-enabled feature set, and general philosophy to offer open integration with industry-leading third-party software suppliers, such as DirectLogix were all key factors in AT&S’s selection of Engenix. In response to future upgrades to PCB technology, AT&S plans to utilize Engenix to further develop advanced engineering tools for registration enhancement and design for manufacturability optimization.
AT&S plans to equip all of its manufacturing sites with Cimnet Systems’ state-of-the-art tools to offer its customers the very best product possible when it comes to front end engineering. Utilizing Engenix with a complete set of automated engineering scripts, along with the standardization of engineering practices and the elimination of human error from its processes, AT&S expects to realize a reduction in cycle time for new engineering jobs by more than 50 percent.
Cimnet Systems’ Engenix solution encompasses tools for job management, pre-production engineering, and communication and collaboration, providing a foundation for all of AT&S’s engineering automation needs. As part of its partnership with AT&S, Cimnet Systems has committed to helping the AT&S team develop enhancements to the foundation of Engenix on an ongoing basis.
“Cimnet Systems offers a set of solutions that can help PCB manufacturers completely automate front-end operations, from quoting to pre-production engineering and design,” said Mehul Dav
