AVR Enterprises Awarded ECS III Contract
HERNDON, VaDecember 18, 2002–AVR Enterprises, Inc. (AVR) has been awarded a contract by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to supply desktop and laptop computers, peripherals, networking equipment, software, and maintenance and support services to Centers and Institutes of NIH and to other Federal agencies. AVR is one of multiple prime contractors awarded the Electronic Commodity Store (ECS) III contract by the NIH Information Technology Acquisition and Assessment Center (NITAAC).
ECS III is an online quoting system. An eligible user submits a detailed Request for Quotation (RFQ) to vendors, who respond with online quotes. The electronic RFQ process is convenient and easy to use. ECS III is a successor to NIHs successful ECS II contract. ECS III is expected to be worth $ 6 billion over the next 10 years.
