CATALYST SEMICONDUCTOR LOOKS TO CHINA SALES EXPANSION

Catalyst Semiconductor (Nasdaq: CATS) today announced the opening of its third Far East sales office and the appointment of Charlie Wang as Area Sales Manager, China and Hong Kong, reporting to Irv Kovalik, Catalyst Semiconductor Vice President of Worldwide Sales. Stationed in Shanghai, Mr. Wang will be responsible for sales and distribution in the Peoples Republic of China (P.R.C.) and Hong Kong.

President of Worldwide Sales. “A successful move into new product areas requires a greater emphasis on design-win activity and increased awareness of our engineering contacts within target accounts. In addition, with China becoming a major manufacturing center, our ability to provide local support to major contract assembly operations has driven us to expand our direct regional presence.”

Mr. Wang joins Catalyst Semiconductor from IDT Corporation where he was a Regional Sales Manager. Other professional experience includes Newave Semiconductor, which was acquired by IDT in 2001, Microchip Technology Inc., a supplier of microcontrollers, digital potentiometers and EEPROM memory products, and National Semiconductor. He has a BSEE degree from Shanghai University and also a Master of Science degree in Engineering from Shanghai University.
