Washington, D.C. (PRWEB) September 01, 2011
The New York City Grand National Kickball Open was the seventh event in Kickball 365s 2011 season (The Circuit). The Circuit has had a successful first year of competition and continues to grow. Produced by Kickball365 and presented by Complete Discovery Source, Inc. (CDS), an electronic discovery service provider, The Circuit provides the most competitive kickball offered today. To date, more than 1,600 athletes on more than 100 teams have participated in The Circuit, and many of those top teams now turn their attention to The Circuit Championship in Las Vegas in October.
Two teams that will be competing in The Circuit Cup Championship are Mo’ Tussin and Flying V. Mo Tussin is an official Circuit team that has enjoyed its year on The Circuit and has found the move to a competitive style of kickball enjoyable and worth the trip. Based in Washington, D.C., the team was created by kickball veterans Mark Lundquist and John Canery, both of whom have more than 10 years of kickball experience in various leagues.
We are hooked on the Circuit, said Lundquist. The best competition plays here, and every open tournament presents our team with new challenges. Off the field, the parties are epic. The very teams and people we were doing battle with earlier in the day, we’re now raising a glass or two with that night. It’s a great group of people that you can play in some fiery, heated games one minute, and all be friends again once the game is over. Every single event we meet new people as well as see so many familiar faces from tourney’s past. Through all these people we’ve gained a nationwide network of friends.
That sentiment is shared by Mo Tussin co-captain and co-founder John Canery. We got involved in The Circuit because we were already hooked on tourney kickball. We had already played in almost all the tournaments that now make up The Circuit, and the subtle but important changes The Circuit has brought to the table has really kicked the sport up a notch. The sport itself has taken a huge step forward because of The Circuit.
Brickford Faucette is the captain of the newest team to The Circuit, Flying V. The team has participated in four Circuit events and has made a name for itself amongst the Circuits elite teams. With success in the first Circuit events of the year, the team plans to attend the Circuit Championship in Vegas October 9th.
We’ve really enjoyed our first year on the Circuit, said Faucette. It’s been fun being the “new” team and attempting to make a name for ourselves. The warmth in which we were received by the veteran Circuit teams was a very warm and appreciated gesture. We’ve made quite a few great friendships and I think that’s one of the things that has made attending multiple tournaments so appealing to our team. We feel like we can bring a youthful exuberance to The Circuit that hopefully adds to the social experience.
To be honest it’s been a whirlwind, continued Faucette. Each tournament has been fun in it’s own way but I think from a team perspective the Virginia Beach tournament was the most fun we’ve had together. We learned a lot about ourselves that trip and I really think that’s when we really knew we were hooked! The team has embraced the challenges of becoming better and improving each tournament. The goal is to be #1 and I don’t think anyone has the goal of stopping until we get there.
