Edge Electronics, Inc., a leading distributor of electronic components and display solutions , recently entered into a distribution agreement with Samsung Semiconductor, Inc., a leading manufacturer of memory, system LSI components, storage devices, and LCD panels. The agreement authorizes Edge Electronics to distribute all four categories of Samsung components throughout North America.
According to Edge Electronics President and CEO, Adrienne Giannone, âThis agreement is a win-win. Edge has been customizing and supplying semiconductors successfully for 18 years across telecom, security, military, industrial, consumer and other electronics markets. This experience enhances Edgeâs ability to excel at selling Samsung DRAM, Flash, SRAM, microcontrollers, Solid State Drives (SSDs), Hard Disk Drives (HDDs), and Optical Disk Drives (ODDs) in specialized markets.
Samsungâs LCD business is also an obvious fit, given Edge Electronicsâ extensive display solutions program, which already features a specialized offering of small- to medium-sized LCDs, with associated enhancements and accessories. Growth in this program has come at a feverish pace over the last five years, and the addition of Samsungâs large panels opens up a larger market for Edge to continue that growth. Specifically, Edge plans to emphasize Samsungâs Digital Information Display (DID) line of 40-inch-and-above (diagonal) LCDs.
