Emulation Technology Announces Adapter Support for ATMEL® AT93C56/66 Devices

SANTA CLARA, CA (PRWEB) September 9, 2004

Emulation Technology (ET), announced today a new Programming Adapter specifically designed to support the needs of engineers designing with the Atmel® AT93C56/66 devices in the new dBGA2 package.

ET’s new dBGA2 Programming Adapter accommodates the Atmel 3-wire serial EEPROM (Electrically Erasable and Programmable Read-only Memory), low-density devices which are manufactured for a broad range of consumer products and portable industrial and commercial applications requiring low-power and low-voltage operation. The dBGA2 is the smallest laminate BGA for serial EEPROM.

Program Two Devices in Parallel

The dBGA2’s miniature size presents unique challenges to electronic designers and others implementing and programming designs with the processors. ET provides direct programming support and minimizes the risks associated with programming small form-factor packaged devices such as the dBGA2:

The adapter’s dual socket allows a user to program two devices at same time.

The top-loading, burn-in socket provides safe, quick and easy access for manual or automated programming.

The socket’s spring actuating guide clips keep devices secure during programming.

Adapter Covers More than One Application

Since the dBGA2 is wired 1-to-1 and is available with male DIP screw machine pins, it can double as a test fixture for circuit test, prescreen, failure analysis and prototyping applications.

The male DIP base adapter base is easily hand soldered or wire wrapped to a PCB for quick and easy implementations.

Price and Availability

The dBGA2 Programming Adapters are priced at $ 175.00, and the socket alone for $ 145.00 (quantities 1-5 pieces) Delivery in 10-15 days.
