GSM Based AC Appliance Control

Summary of GSM Based AC Appliance Control

This project enables remote control of AC appliances via a mobile phone using GSM technology. It allows users, such as farmers, to operate devices like motor pumps from anywhere without physical travel, particularly beneficial for night-time operations. The system utilizes an ATMega16 microcontroller to process commands received through a GSM module and executes actions via a relay switch.

Parts used in the Remote AC Appliance Control Project:

  • ATMega16 Development board
  • LCD board
  • SIM 300/900 GSM Module
  • 12V/2A Power Supply
  • SIM card with balance
  • SPDT Relay Switch
  • Transistor BC547
  • Diode 1N4007
  • 10k Resistor
  • PC or Laptop (Optional)

This project would show you how to control an AC appliance remotely from anywhere using your mobile phone. This kind of project is useful in various applications. Say for example a farmer can switch ON or OFF the motor pump present near his field remotely. In this way he need not travel all the way to the field to control it, especially at night times.
