Jennic Partners with Taiwans III to Deliver ZigBee Stack On Its JN5121 Microcontroller for Asia-Pacific Market

Sheffield, UK (PRWEB) December 8, 2005

Jennic has announced a partnership with Taiwans Institute for Information Industry (III) to deliver ZigBee solutions. As the primary ICT research development organization in Taiwan, III has ported its ZigBee stack to Jennics JN5121 IEEE802.15.4 wireless microcontroller, and is now able to offer this solution to local customers in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific Region. The result of this joint development will be shown at the ZigBee Alliance Open House in Hong Kong this week (8th December 2005, Langham Place Hotel).

The ZigBee stack is developed by the Networks and Multimedia Institute (NMI) of III, which has been involved in wireless sensor network and IEEE802.15.4 related research fields since 2002. Having joined the ZigBee Alliance in early 2004 and evolved as an IEEE802.15.4/ZigBee software solution provider, III became the first company in Asia to pass the ZigBee Compliant Platform certification.

Tony Lucido, VP marketing at Jennic commented, We are seeing very strong interest in ZigBee applications in Asia. Our strategy is to work closely with partners like III to provide a strong regional presence.

Dr. J. C. Dorng, VP and general director of the NMI, indicated, We are pleased to work with Jennic in combining its state of the art wireless microcontroller with IIIs ZigBee stack and excellent application middleware capability to produce a differentiated solution. We are confident this will drive the adoption and growth of wireless sensor network applications in Asia..
