Westlake, OH (PRWEB) October 8, 2004
On Oct. 11, Nordson Corporation (Nasdaq-NDSN) will celebrate its 50th Anniversary. Founded in 1954, Nordson has grown from a local company serving the Midwestern U.S., to a publicly traded NASDAQ multinational organization with sales of more than $ 667 million in 2003. The company has increased quarterly dividends for 41 consecutive years, which represents the 19th longest span of increased dividends among the 10,000 current U.S. public companies.
Also on Mon., Oct. 11, Nordson Chairman and CEO Edward P. Campbell will preside over the NASDAQ Market Open at 9:30 a.m. EDT.
Today, Nordson is one of the world’s leading producer of precision dispensing equipment that apply adhesives, sealants and coatings to a broad range of consumer and industrial products during manufacturing operations. The company owns more than 1,900 patents for breakthroughs in the adhesive dispensing, finishing and coatings, and technology business areas. Nordson has more than 3,500 employees worldwide; direct operations and sales support offices in 30 countries; and an expanding worldwide presence to 57 countries.
Virtually every day, everywhere, people from around the world interact with products that benefit from technology and equipment made by Nordson. The company serves the appliance, automotive, circuit board assembly, electronics, food and beverage, furniture, medical, metal finishing, nonwovens products, packaging, semiconductor, telecommunications and other diverse industries.
The scope of applications that Nordson equipment touches are wide-ranging: cereal boxes and candy bar wrappers are sealed with adhesives dispensed by Nordson equipment; gaskets are robotically fixed into automotive powertrain assemblies using Nordson systems; fluids for semiconductor package assembly are dispensed by Nordson dispensers; and diaper fasteners, used on millions of baby diapers each year, get their uniform stickiness from adhesives applied by Nordson precision dispensing systems.
Campbell attributes much of the companys success and longevity to its continuous commitment to providing its customers with outstanding service as well as the talents and support of Nordson employees.
Nordson Corporations ability to continue to build its business, expand its global service offerings, and provide enhanced shareholder value is a testament to the strong relationships we share with our valued customers, business partners and employees, all of whom we thank in helping Nordson reach this milestone, Campbell said.
As we strive to continue to be the best company in every market and every location where we do business, we are seeking opportunities worldwide that will meet and create market demand for our industry-leading dispensing systems. We are dedicated to continuing to bring value to our customers, business partners, consumers and local communities for another 50 years and beyond, he added.
Nordson Corporations business practices have garnered for it a reputation as being a highly notable organization to work for and to conduct business with. This year the company earned a spot on Business Ethics magazines list of 100 Best Corporate Citizens for the fourth consecutive year. Also, Ohio Governor Bob Taft issued a declaration honoring Nordson for its longevity and contributions as a good corporate citizen within the State of Ohio.
