Presagis Pioneers HMI Development with Next-Generation Software

Montreal, Canada (PRWEB) April 12, 2012

Presagis, a leading provider of commercial-off-the shelf (COTS) modeling, simulation, and embedded graphics software, today announced the latest release of its next-generation software for Human Machine Interface (HMI) development: VAPS XT v4.0 and VAPS XT-178 v4.0. This new release provides an open and extensible COTS graphical HMI modeling and development software for real-time, embedded applications, supporting certifiable and non-certifiable safety-critical environments. Designed from inception to support the delivery of future cockpits, VAPS XT provides the functionalities necessary to streamline the entire graphics development workflow, from initial design requirements to prototyping and simulation, development, testing, documentation, and final certification.

With a core focus on delivering COTS software for avionics applications, Presagis partners with its customers for the long term to help them to significantly de-risk their projects, said Robert Kopersiewich, Vice President and Product Segment Lead of Embedded Graphics, Presagis. Since 1987 we have acquired essential experience and knowledge working with leading companies in the avionics industry and Presagis has continually invested to develop leading software to meet the demanding requirements of this environment. With VAPS XT 4.0 we now also provide full support and enablement for ARINC 661, the leading edge architecture for deploying avionics display systems.

Providing continuity and consistency for the complete real-time embedded application development lifecycle, Presagis VAPS XT and VAPS XT-178 offer enhanced support for ARINC 661 including more than 38 widgets and infrastructure elements specific to the standard in order to provide a complete ARINC 661 Cockpit Display System (CDS) Development Solution.

For 25 years, Presagis has been providing HMI graphical modeling tools to produce leading graphics and highly optimized code for embedded systems through its products VAPS and VAPS XT which has been deployed to thousands of aircrafts worldwide. Presagis HMI qualifiable development tools have been used in over 30 programs around the world and are currently used by major avionics system integrators, including: BAE Systems, Datel, Barco, CMC Electronics, Lockheed Martin, THALES Avionics, and SAAB.

About VAPS XT

VAPS XT is a full-featured and advanced software tool that offers unparalleled control and flexibility in the design of dynamic, interactive, real-time human machine interfaces (HMIs) for safety and mission-critical embedded displays. VAPS XT provides all of the tools and features necessary to streamline the entire graphics development workflow, from initial design requirements to prototyping and simulation, development, testing, documentation, and final certification. As a result, users save time and money on development because VAPS XT allows them to produce display graphics faster and more reliably.

About VAPS XT-178

VAPS XT-178 is based on the human machine interface tool (HMI) VAPS XT and retains all of the core features, while adding features that enable the user to claim credit towards certification requirements. VAPS XT-178 is the first complete COTS, DO-178B/C qualifiable, object-oriented C++ avionics development tool that can be used for both ARINC 661 and non-ARINC 661 programs. It is a software tool suite for creating embedded display graphics for safety-critical avionics projects intended for RTCA DO-178B/C certification, as well as the European standard, ED-12B/C.
