Sonic Control Launches Investors Guide to Understanding Music Technology & Music Technology Stocks

Petersburg, VA (PRWEB) March 14, 2007

When Apple buys privately held Emagic, or Avid buys Sibelius, or when Creative Technology brings out its Fatal1ty audio card, is that important to investors? And how can you tell? To answer these questions, Sonic Control has launched a new series called The Investor’s Guide to Understanding Music Technology & Music Technology Stocks that goes behind the numbers to explain the music industry, the customers, and the amazing innovations that impact virtually all music heard on radio, TV and films. “Sonic Control applies our corporate mission of ‘learn it right the first time’ by teaching this other side of the music business which gets virtually no publicity outside the trade press,” explained Peter Alexander, CEO of Alexander University, Inc., Sonic Control’s parent company.

The first article covers the projected USA market size, customer demographics, and a marketing look corporate buying sprees. “There are several sleeping giants on this list who have everything needed to explode music technology purchasing into the broad consumer markets including expanded distribution outside music stores into BestBuy and Circuit City,” noted Alexander.

In 2006, Sonic Control began its financial coverage of the MusicTech 22 to better tell the story of these innovative publicly traded companies that globally impact virtually all music production from CDs to movie soundtracks to classroom education. Using data from The Financials.com, all of the MusicTech 22 stock prices are updated three times daily, and come with charts and historical data. “So the financial fundamentals are covered, now we go to the next step,” said Alexander.

To better explain the MusicTech 22 to investors and analysts, the companies have been organized into seven groups: CPUs and Operating Systems, Game Stocks, Music Production Software, Hardware/Integrated Solutions, Distribution and Retail, Media, and Musical Instruments/Sheet Music.

Coverage of the Sonic Control MusicTech 22 includes a news section for individual company press releases and stories, weekly gains and losses after the Friday bell posted on the Sonic Control home page, and commentary. “Sonic Control brings music technology’s story to Man Street by giving both balanced financial reporting and a behind-the-scenes look at product development in the spirit of Tracey Kidder’s ‘The Soul of a New Machine'” said Alexander.

USA members of the Sonic Control MusicTech 22 are Activision, Adobe, Advanced Micro Design, Amazon, Apple, Avid, Creative Technology, Electronic Arts, Freehand Systens, Game Stop, Guitar Center, Harman International, Intel, Kaman, Loud Technologies, Make Music, Microsoft, PriMedia, Steinway Pianos, Sony, Sonic Solutions, THQ, Yamaha. On the Tokyo Stock Exchange, Rolandcorp, TEAC, and Yamaha round out the Sonic Control MusicTech 22. “We’ve inlcuded game stocks because they’re the new employers for composers, and for some games, full orchestras,” Alexander explained.
