What does the „Tripple Lock“ mean?
As already the name says, it is a triple locking – protection against disconnection. The basic and the most important is a sophisticated design with exactly mating parts and a reliable lock. Audible click is a discreet but very useful feature contributing to a correct connector assembly.
Optional protections are „CPA“ and „TPA“
● CPA (connector position assurance) is an optional plastic part – additional lock against mistaken disengagement.
● TPA (terminal position assurence) is an optional plastic part used from the rear connector side (from leads) ensuring a 100% exact leads, helps precise mating and improves overall reliability and immunity to vibrations and stresses.
Connectors are available with pins in a single row (2,3,4,5), two rows (2×3,2×4,2×5,2×6) and in a matrix (3×3,3×4,3×5) with 6mm pin spacing. Basic parameters are 20A/600VAC or DC. Also interesting is the fact, that connectors are available in three material versions with a different thermal resistance (all are UL 94V-0):
● PBT standard (-55…105°C)
● high temperature (-55…150°C)
● „Glow wire“ (750°C no flame) according to IEC 60335-1
Prevention against improper connectors assembly is a different colour coding of particular material versions. Another factor preventing improper connection are 4 possibilities of keying (necessary if the same connectors are in one device). Power Tripple Lock is a big family of connectors containing connectors “wire-to-wire“ (free hanging leads),“wire-to-board“ as well as panel mount versions.
Versatility of Power Tripple Lock connectors is also underlined by a wide range of usable wires cross sections in a range of 0,34-3,3mm2 (12-22 AWG). A comprehensive overview of Power Tripple Lock connectors can be found in the „Improving appliance connector designs“ flyer and in the „Quick Reference Guide“.
