Greensboro, NC (PRWEB) June 24, 2010

GREENSBORO, NC (PRWEB) June 24, 2010 — Tyco Electronics Corporation, the $ 10.3 billion dollar global provider of engineered electronic components, network solutions, specialty products and undersea telecommunications, today announced that it will exhibit its newly acquired 9th Wire hardware technology that powers the AMPTRAC Intelligent Infrastructure Management System (IIM) along with new AMPTRAC IIM features and a powerful array of network cabling technologies at CISCO Live! 2010. Held at the Mandalay Bay Hotel in Las Vegas June 27th through July 2nd, the event is expected to attract more than 10,000 IT professionals.

Tyco Electronics is a Cisco Solution Developer and will use the CISCO Live! event to demonstrate the companys broad product line including: MRJ21 trunk cables, XG copper, fiber and SECURE cabling products as well as 10 Gig infrastructure demonstrations of Sigma-Link and Quad2, PARA-OPTIX and MPO cable assemblies, Cat 6 panels and fiber adapter plates. Taking center stage in Tyco Electronics Booth #970 in the World of Solutions Expo will be the AMPTRAC intelligent infrastructure management solution. With its 9th Wire technology, the AMPTRAC smart connectivity system makes it easier for IT administrators to maintain an accurate configuration management database, maximize network uptime, enhance asset location and turn cabling systems and their connected devices into smart networks.

AMPTRAC IIM technology provides the real-time hardware interface for managing and maintaining an accurate, automatically updated, layer 1 connectivity database. This database provides ready access to current circuit and patch configurations and status, helping reduce IT down time. It also aides with accurate IP asset location and forensic Audit-trail capabilities helping enterprises with regulatory compliance and network security, says Chris Germano, Product Management, Intelligent Solutions. Germano added that Tyco Electronics is committed to AMPTRAC IIM and investing in the Intelligent Solutions arena and that the companys recent acquisition of the IP rights to the 9th Wire technology demonstrates that commitment.

In addition to showcasing the benefits of the AMPTRAC hardware technology, Tyco Electronics will also introduce several new features added to its AMPTRAC IIM system, including the capability to recognize and automatically generate corrective work actions to repair unauthorized network moves, adds and changes.
