Upward Trend in Alternative and Complementary Medicine Use Revealed in Nation Center for Health Statistics Report Impacts Puma Method Travel Sickness Prevention Sales

Winchester, CA (PRWEB) August 30, 2011

The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine and the National Center for Health Statistics (part of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention) released new findings that Americans’ use of complementary and alternative medicine continues to increase annually. Other studies have shown even greater increases in use of complementary and alternative medicine outside the United States. Puma Applied Science attributes much of the consistent annual increase in sales of the Puma Method for Prevention of Motion Sickness to this ever-rising demand for natural remedies, especially for airsickness, seasickness and carsickness where the side effects of traditional drug treatments can be unexpected and unpleasant.

With the Puma Method there are never any negative side effects because no drugs or devices are used. The Puma Method is completely natural. It relies on the bodys own mechanism, called habituation, to permanently prevent the queasiness, dizziness, nausea and other symptoms of travel sickness. The Puma Method consists of a series of easy to perform warm up and habituation (often called conditioning) exercises. These exercises raise a persons tolerance to a variety of motion sickness producing activities, such as reading in a moving vehicle, riding in a small boat or cruise ship and flying in an airplane. The mild head, neck and upper body exercises boost a persons tolerance to motion sickness causing activities. A preview of the exercises can be viewed at pumamethod.com or youtube.com/watch?v=2757qi0E71s&feature=player_embedded.

The exercises take only about 15 minutes a day. Habituation starts right away and in as little as one week a person can begin to enjoy activities that used to make them feel ill. This new level of conditioning is automatically maintained as the individual participates in these new activities. The Puma Method exercises do not need to be continued unless a higher level of habituation is desired.

Although completely natural, these exercises are extremely powerful, stated Dr. Sam Puma, president of Puma Applied Science and developer of the Puma Method. I always recommend that people watch our video a couple of times before beginning the exercises so they understand how habituation works. The exercises should be done very gently in the beginning, at a comfortable pace. Each day of exercise brings a higher level of habituation. The exercises can then be done at a slightly faster pace and a bit longer on subsequent days. If done too vigorously on the first day, however, the exercises can cause mild to moderate motion sickness, warned Dr. Puma. This is something we definitely do not want anyone to experience. To date the Puma Method has been just about 100% effective for those who follow the program.
