This will serve to extend the Compact Flash form factor life cycle by seven more years in Industrial embedded and communication applications.

 

The Tuffdisk VCF400 is the newest addition to the Industrial and Commercial series of Flash Solutions offered by Virtium. Unlike other Compact Flash Solutions on the market which are limited by lower density and up to 4K page NAND Flash, Virtiums VCF400 is designed in up to 64GB densities with 2K, 4K, 8K, and 16k page Flash support. The 2 channel controller supports PIO, MDMA, and UDMA to UDMA6 modes and boasts hardware designs for SLC, eMLC and MLC NAND Flash.

 

The new VCF400 series gives us the opportunity to exceed customer requirements for Compact Flash Solutions and continued application support; specifically for extended product life cycles, said Phan Hoang, Vice President of Research and Development at Virtium. Not only does the VCF400 series extend the product life cycle up to seven more years, but its featured with large Internal RAM storage for firmware customization in specialized Industrial Embedded and Telecommunication applications.

 

Specific host and compatibility issues faced by designers are easily and efficiently overcome with Virtiums dedicated, onsite FAEs and additional enhanced firmware customization. Virtiums FAEs are readily available to assist customers with transitions and integrations of the new VCF400 Compact Flash series.
