ViVitro Labs Releases Simulated Use Tester/ Endovascular Procedure Simulator for Stents, Stent Grafts, and Transcatheter Heart Valves

Victoria, B.C. (PRWEB) February 09, 2012

ViVitro Labs Inc., the leader in prosthetic heart valve testing and a global provider of cardiovascular device testing equipment and ISO 17025 accredited laboratory services, has released its EV Simulator. Designed for cost effective simulated use testing and endovascular simulation training, this system utilizes the Pulse Duplicator and SuperPump AR technology for which the company is well-known. The ViVitro EV Simulator provides a unique compact design that minimizes connecting hoses and controls flow and pressures while using the ViVitro Superpump to emulate the physiological function of various vascular models.

Employing AR series technology, the ViVitro SuperPump provides realistic pulsatile flow as well as a programmable waveform and playback system, allowing the user live cardiac output control through a standalone system. Embedding the ViVitro Pulse Duplicator technology into the simulator provides physiologically relevant pressures. By placing numerous anatomical models, including abnormalities or custom, patient-specific modeling, a user can train or test many endovascular or transcatheter medical devices and delivery systems.

When operated for simulated use testing, the ViVitro Labs EV Simulator provides functional design testing for stent, stent graft, balloons, wires, coils, filters and transcatheter heart valve testing to assess pulsatile flow interactions, positioning, deployment accuracy, sizing, conformability, trackability and pushability, torquability, securement measuring, and deployment force. The ViVitro Labs EV Simulator enables users to confidently demonstrate that devices can be delivered and deployed in a safe, consistent and accurate manner within the intended implant site and with intended use conditions. Guidelines are provided in the ISO 5840, ISO 25539, and ISO 7198 standards.

Used for endovascular simulation training, the ViVitro EV Simulator provides physicians a clinically relevant model to practice skills. The visual access allows the user navigation information through various anatomical structures and abnormalities that may be encountered during procedures. Learning a delivery system and sensing the encountered forces while maneuvering stents, catheters, wires, balloons, heart valves and other endovascular devices provides invaluable feedback. Physicians can sharpen their skills and increase their confidence in a safe and realistically simulated environment using the ViVitro Labs EV Simulator.

Whether used for functional design testing, physician training, or device demonstration, the ViVitro EV Simulator provides physiological pulsatile flow and pressures mimicking endovascular procedures in a clinically relevant environment.
