Western Electronics (http://www.westernelectronics.com) announced that it has introduced Infor ERP Syteline 8 ERP upgrade to its information systems to complement its Contract Electronics Manufacturing capabilities and value-added solution offerings. Western Electronics is a full service contract electronics manufacturer providing design-for-manufacturability/testability, procurement/supply-chain management, printed-circuit-board assembly, wire-harness and cable assembly, box-build and upper level assembly, logistics and end-order-fulfillment, and now conformal coating services.
Western Electronics had been utilizing a prior version of ERP Syteline’s ERP and recognized a benefit to upgrading its ERP System, and as a result of evaluating several solutions Western Electronics chose to upgrade to a more current version of Infor’s ERP Syteline as opposed to an alternate solution. “We looked at a variety of potential options, and felt as though the ERP Syteline solution offered the greatest level of flexibility for managing our business, and afforded us a reasonable upgrade path with a management tool we have a favorable prior experience with,” said David Parsons, IT Manager of Western Electronics.
The Infor ERP Syteline upgrade was implemented at Western Electronics at the end of 2009, and Western achieved a smooth transition with no disruptions to its business, and has been developing and utilizing the full functionality of the software. The intent is to continue exploiting the features of ERP Syteline for data optimization, as well as integrating the functionality with Western Electronics product lifecycle management tool and its documentation management systems.
