XEMICS SA Launches New Hong Kong Branch Office To Strengthen Its Presence In Asia Pacific Market

XEMICS SA, the Swiss fabless semiconductor company, announced today its expanded presence in the Asia Pacific market. XEMICS’ new Asia Pacific Branch Office will be based centrally in the heart of Hong Kong. It will be in an ideal position to deliver its low-power systems-on-chip products and focus on customer needs, from product definition to volume delivery and on-site support.


XEMICS’ Asian Branch Office primary goal is to intensify sales and marketing activities in South East Asia. At present, the Asian market accounts for 20% of XEMICS’ sales turnover. With this expansion, the company is aiming to increase that figure to 30% by the end of 2005. By being on-site, the Asian Branch Office can provide Asian customers with full services and application support.


XEMICS Asia will concentrate on marketing its core activities for portable audio devices, sensing applications, remote metering, short distance wireless communication, Bluetooth®, deeply embedded microcontrollers and DSPs, hand-held battery-operated applications and GPS.


Hayder Al-Darweesh, currently “Director of Sales Asia Pacific” at XEMICS SA, will manage the newly created branch office. “I am very excited about my role in this new endeavor,” he said. “Being based in the heart of Asia (Hong Kong) means that we will be able to generate closer ties with other fast moving semiconductor businesses as well as provide a better service to our partners and customers.
