Digital Preamplifier

Posted on: 07 Sep 2014

Summary Our ECE476 Final Project is a digital pre-amplifier. A digital pre-amplifier basically takes an analog music signal, converts it digitally, and spits it out as a new, modified, analog signal. Our decision to do this project was sparked by our interest in music and electronic equipment. High-end receivers and amplifiers often use this analog […]

Tetris Video Game

Posted on: 06 Sep 2014

Introduction For our 2003 ECE476 Design Project, we designed a Tetris game that was playable via a 16 button keypad and was displayed on a black and white television at a resolution of 128×100. The heart of the hardware system consists of the ATMEL Mega32 microcontroller and an STK500 test board. The game mimics what […]

Voltage Reference Overview

Posted on: 06 Sep 2014

With more than 40 years of supply history, Texas Instruments is the premier volume supplier of voltage references. TI’s broad portfolio features low temperature coefficient, precise initial accuracy, low noise, and excellent long term stability performance. Series and shunt references support a wide variety of applications, including high-precision references for data converters up to 20-bit […]

Researchers find a way to reduce contact resistance with molybdenum disulphide nanosheets

Posted on: 05 Sep 2014

(Phys.org) —A team of researchers with members from Rutgers University and Los Alamos National Laboratory has found a way to get around the problem of metals forming high-resistance when deposited on 2H phase molybdenum disulphide (MoS2). In their paper published in the journal Nature Materials, the team describes how they came up with a process for inducing 2H phase nanosheets to the metallic 1T phase, thereby reducing contact resistance.

Cornell Hockey Using Atmel Mega32

Posted on: 05 Sep 2014

News April 27, 2003 The project is due for us tomorrow, since we have the Monday evening lab slot. We spent a little time in the lab fixing the last few bugs, tweaking a little, and taking some pictures. We have an enclosure for the hardware so it’s not just a bare circuit board with […]

Gray-scale Graphics: Dueling Ships

Posted on: 04 Sep 2014

A 4-bit gray-scale video system demonstrated by a multiplayer game Our project displays a 128-by-96-pixel image in 4-bit gray-scale (16 intensities) by using a memory-map compression scheme. The equivalent uncompressed display would require 6-KB of memory (128 96 pixels 4 bits/pixel = 6,144 bytes), but we manage to achieve this in less than […]
