Century Electronics Launches Supplier Excellence Alliance Lean Enterprise System

Irvine, California (PRWEB) March 29, 2007

Perillo Industries, Inc. dba Century Electronics, located in Westlake Village California, is launching the implementation of the Supplier Excellence Alliance (SEA) Lean Enterprise System.

The Lean Enterprise System (LES) is the continuous improvement system developed by aerospace, defense, and space suppliers. The LES helps suppliers build new capabilities that will enable them to better support the emerging needs of their customers. The LES also builds a culture where lean production principles and standard work are applied throughout the organization to ensure sustained improvements in delivery and quality while reducing lead times and cost.

Century Electronics, a Division of Perillo Industries, Inc. is an Engineering Designer and Manufacturer of custom AC/DC Power Supplies and DC/DC Converters. Century Electronics was founded in 1973 and was purchased by Perillo Industries in 1992. Century’s customer base includes Raytheon, L3 Communications and EDO among others. It occupies 23,000 sq. ft. in the Lindero Corporate Center.

Century Electronics believes its core competency is designing and manufacturing power supplies to a customer’s specifications. Century’s current focus is on penetrating the modular converter market and has designed two new modular converters to address this arena. Having the capability of Low Volume Production, Build to Print and Reverse Engineering has allowed Century flexibility in satisfying its customers’ changing needs. CE’s Production Personnel have been trained in IPC-STD-001D, IPC-610D, NASA-8739, Lean Manufacturing, and ISO9001. Century is currently undergoing AS9100 training for certification.

Mary E. Perillo, President, says, “Engaging with SEA on the LES path will allow CE to continue a positive and progressive relationship with our customers. It will fortify our efforts to reduce our costs by further educating our personnel in sound manufacturing practices. Having worked with the SEA staff over the years, I am confident this engagement will lead to our continued success.”

As a non-profit alliance of leading industry prime contractors, tier-ones, and suppliers, SEA’s purpose is to accelerate supply chain performance, helping U. S. suppliers become more competitive, while helping the supply chain become more adaptive, agile and aligned.
