Crestwood Technology Group Commits to CCAP-101 Program an Industry-Wide Effort to Stamp out Counterfeit Components

Yonkers, NY (PRWEB) January 31, 2012

Crestwood Technology Group today announced it has joined the Components Technology Institute Inc. Certification Program, CCAP-101, in the Fight Against Counterfeit Components.

Crestwood Technology Group, a qualified supplier to the worlds top aerospace and defense contractors and the US Military, takes further steps in the fight against counterfeit components.

Components Technology Institute Inc. (CTI) is very pleased to confirm that Crestwood Technology Group (CTG) has achieved Certification to the CCAP-101 Program to detect and avoid counterfeit electronic components, says Leon Hamiter, founder of CTI. The CCAP-101 Certified process prescribes specific mandatory tests and inspections plus controls to assure the detection of counterfeit parts to prevent their delivery to customers. There have been no reported counterfeits received by customers that ordered CCAP-101 Certified components from Certified Independent Distributors.

Additionally, CTG was the first Independent Distributor that CTI trained on counterfeit component detection in February 2007. This clearly shows CTGs desire and effort to protect its defense and aerospace customers from receiving counterfeit components. CCAP-101 Certified Program has solidified CTGs position as an elite Independent Distributor in the battle against counterfeiting.

CTG is honored to team with Leon Hamiter and CTI in its efforts to combat counterfeit components. There is no greater threat to the defense and aerospace market than counterfeit parts. If a distributor is unable to act as a gatekeeper and make certain that the US Military and defense contractors do not receive bad parts, then there is a tremendous risk for equipment failure, weakened defense and potentially loss of lives, said Denise Gilchrist, President and founder of Crestwood Technology Group.
