Distron Corp. Announces the Promotions of Two Senior Executives, Michael Hayes and Don Petry

Attleboro Falls, MA (PRWEB) February 12, 2009

Distron Corporation (http://www.distron.com), a leading electronic contract manufacturer located in Attleboro Falls, Massachusetts, proudly announced that as of January 30th, 2009, senior executives Michael Hayes and Don Petry have both been promoted to the position of Vice President and will become integral members of the company’s management team.

With over 30 years experience in the electronics industry, Michael Hayes spent the past two years with Distron as the Director of Quality and Engineering. In his new role as Vice President of Quality & & Engineering, Hayes will continue to lead the expansion of Distron’s quality management and reporting systems, as well as furthering the implementation of the companies advanced Aegis Manufacturing software.

“I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues on expanding Distron’s business, but also with our customers in helping them to continue to achieve success. With the Aegis software, in particular, it gives our customers a great advantage over their competitors,” remarks Hayes. The primary benefit of Aegis is that it assists in speeding up the time it takes for Distron’s customers to launch their product. Because of the streamline processes the Aegis software offers, it facilitates the early detection of design errors at the initial development stage. And in doing so, Distron can make adjustments to the product design quickly and accurately before it enters production, which provides for a cost-benefit as well.

Don Petry, who has worked as the Business Development Manager and Sales Director at Distron for the past seven years will now assume his role as the new Vice President of Sales and Marketing. Petry will lead all aspects of business development and customer service, as well as direct the company’s efforts toward expanding its services and capabilities.

“Distron is intent on expanding its base business focusing on New England area companies particularly those in military, medical, alternative energy and lighting segments,” says Petry. “New England based OEMs who require an electronic contract manufacturing partner with a high degree of technical support will realize the numerous benefits Distron can offer them.”

Recently, Distron entered into a new partnership with a BNS Solutions, a contract design firm, for its electronic design and printed circuit board (PCB) layout services, providing another level of contract manufacturing service to its customers. Additionally, Distron now offers Flying Probe Testing services which will aid in rapid prototype development of PCB assemblies. The new testing equipment detects potential problems earlier reducing engineering debug time and saving customers money. The overall result is that products can be developed rapidly and more cost-effectively.

“We are fortunate to have such experienced and dedicated executives on our management team. Through a combination of both Michael and Don’s efforts, Distron attained ISO 13485 certification in 2008. And we are certain they will continue expanding the company’s rapid growth throughout 2009.” states Robert Donovan, President of Distron Corp.
