FRISCO, Texas (PRWEB) September 15, 2011
e-DATA, a member of the Kaba Group, introduces its next line of Web-based, embedded access control: the Master Unit 308. This low-cost solution can selectively control multiple access points from a single door reader, which reduces hardware while increasing usability and application flexibility.
e-DATA, which recently moved its headquarters to the North Dallas suburb of Frisco, Texas, will feature its physical access control and time & attendance products at ASIS 2011 (Booth #2567), Sept. 19-21 in Orlando, Fla.
The new Master Unit 308 is perfect for many applications, including retail, healthcare and banking everything from the main door to partitioned cabinets, drawers, safes, elevators, data centers and storage units. All with a recorded audit trail. The Master Unit 308 connects up to eight readers using supporting e-DATA Door Units. The flexibility of a modular design with local power to connected readers makes it easy to install.
The Master Unit 308 includes connection for the first two doors in either Wiegand or RS485 reader support. Additional readers are supported through up to three connected Door Units. Multiple Master Units can be configured in a cluster or by using AXIAL, e-DATA’s central management software.
The Master Unit 308 supports cards, PINs and biometrics (e-DATA Fingerprint Key). The integrated Web server, Linux-embedded access control application and REST/SOAP Web Services allow for easy access and setup via any Web browser. This eliminates the need for traditional PC-based servers and client-side administration software. Other features include alert notification via e-mail and universal plug and play (UPnP).
