Succeeds Kazuo Ken Iida Effective April 1, 2001
London, UK. April 9, 2001 Fujitsu Microelectronics Europe GmbH (FME) today announced that Yutaka Yul Suzuki, a Fujitsu career executive with over 25 years experience in the international semiconductor industry, has been named President. He is based in FMEs European headquarters in Dreieich-Buchschlag near Frankfurt. Concurrent with the start of Fujitsus new Fiscal Year, April 1, Mr. Suzuki succeeds Ken Iida who has left Europe to take up the post of President and Chief Executive Officer at Fujitsu Microelectronics, Inc. in the United States.
Suzuki joins FME from Fujitsu Japans (FJ) Electronic Devices Group where he was responsible for Strategic Sales Planning and Marketing for the last 3 years. Previously, he held senior positions in both Domestic and Overseas Engineering and Application Support. He started his career with Fujitsu in the Memory design division in 1973.
Yul Suzuki has worked closely with FME for many years and has built-up excellent relationships with both our own people internally as well as among our European customer-base, said Iida. He brings deep knowledge of the international semiconductor marketplace. I feel very confident that FME will prosper under his Presidency.
I am very glad to take up this new challenge with Fujitsu Microelectronics in Europe, a region traditionally strong in the Automotive, Mobile Communications and Telecommunications markets, with growing opportunities in the field of Multimedia. I am joining a strong and stable FME team and look forward to contributing to business development. I believe that FME is ideally positioned to successfully come through the difficult times which lie ahead by building further on its strength in the design and service to key European markets, said Suzuki.
