Spoerle’s Embedded Platform Concept Leverages Analog Devices Parts to Make Development "As Easy as Possible"

Analog Devices, Inc. (NYSE: ADI) today announced its participation in Spoerleā€™s Embedded Platform Concept (EPC). Based around a variety of high-performance Analog Devices components, the EPC is available directly through Spoerle, a division of Arrow Electronics, and the largest distributor of electronic components in Germany and Central Europe. The EPC is designed to provide embedded developers with ready access to flexible combinations of components in order to expedite the development process.

 

Targeted for control, industrial and medical applications, the ADI-based embedded components include a Blackfin ADSP-BF527 based processor module, and a board with Analog Devicesā€™ power management components. A complete package with both the Blackfin ADSP-BF527 and ADIā€™s power management modules is also available.

In addition to Spoerleā€™s EPC support, developers choosing to design on Analog Devices-based components are also able to take advantage of Analog Devicesā€™ extensive design support ecosystem of development tools, software and third-party offerings. Application development time is significantly reduced due to the convergent Blackfin processorā€™s integration of DSP and microcontroller functionality onto unified single-processor architecture.

 

ADSP-BF527 is powered by Analog Devicesā€™ ADP1829 buck controller and ADP2107 step-down converter, a power management solution that offers an optimal combination of efficient high current conversion (ADP1829) and compact integrated solution (ADP2107), enabling the processor to perform at its best with optimal efficiency from the power supply.

 

Spoerle is using modular reference boards and matched IP and service modules to serve as the basis for the EPC, and will offer developers technically optimized solutions for future use within the framework of this concept. Specific customer requirements can be flexibly accommodated through this modular structure, in terms of hardware as well as software.

Analog Devices DC/DC Board 1 Featuring the ADP1829 DC-to-DC buck controller and ADP2107 step-down converter
