Clean Air Act requires that all automotive technicians opening the refrigeration circuit of an automotive A/C system be certified to recover and recycle the refrigerant in your A/C system. Venting of refrigerant into the atmosphere contributes to global climate change. Proper Refrigerant Type And Amount
When your mobile A/C system is cooling your car properly, there is no need to have the refrigerant cleaned or replaced. Automobile manufacturers have tested and approved only two refrigerants for use in vehicle A/C systems. For most cars manufactured prior to 1995 it is CFC-12 and for cars manufactured after 1995, the approved refrigerant is HFC-134a. Using other chemicals in the system does not guarantee performance and may void the manufacturers warranty. Check the original label on your cars A/C system to identify which type of refrigerant is required. As a consumer you should be aware of the type of your refrigerant your car requires to ensure proper performance.
If your cars A/C is not cooling properly your system may be leaking refrigerant which, if ignored, is not only harmful to the environment but may lead to costly repairs.
