Virtium Names Gary Drossel VP of Product Strategy

RANCHO SANTA MARGARITA, Calif. (PRWEB) February 08, 2012

Virtium Technology, Inc., a leading provider of storage and memory solutions for embedded systems, has named Gary Drossel its Vice President of Product Strategy. Drossel is responsible for developing Virtiums product strategies and executing them through the management of the companys memory and solid-state drive (SSD) product portfolio. In this strategic role, Drossel will also align the product roadmap to the market-driven needs of Virtiums customers.

Drossel brings extensive knowledge and leadership abilities based on his 22 years of product management, engineering and marketing experience in the embedded computing industry. He played an integral role in building SSD product portfolios at STEC and as vice president of product planning at SiliconSystems, which is now the Solid State Storage Business Unit of Western Digital. Prior to SiliconSystems, Drossel held various engineering and marketing management positions with Pro-Log Corporation, which was acquired by Motorola Computer Group, and Parker Hannifin.

I am thrilled to join Virtium at such an exciting time of transition in the embedded market, said Drossel. Todays embedded systems designs are moving toward higher speed memory and away from traditional hard drive and CompactFlash storage. My expertise and partner relationships will help Virtium accelerate its DDR memory, USB, SD, PCIe and SATA SSD solutions to specifically meet multi-year deployment and usage model requirements unique to networking, industrial, medical and military applications.

“We are singularly focused on enabling our customers with the right SSD and memory technologies that match their diverse applications,” said Phu Hoang, Virtium CEO. “Our customers will benefit from Gary’s insight and experience. His demonstrated leadership is a valuable addition to Virtium management team.”
