Campbell, CA (Vocus) June 9, 2009
Focus Enhancements, Inc., a leading supplier of wireless audio technologies, teams up with Anam Electronics Co. Ltd., a top global ODM firm specializing in the design and manufacturing of audio video equipment to incorporate Focus Enhancements FS848 “Summit” high-definition wireless audio integrated circuit (IC) into A/V receivers, offering the first true high resolution wireless audio surround system.
The desire for wireless speakers to minimize clutter has been around for a long time, but fell short when it came to ease of set up, fidelity and interference. Summit, represents a radical re-thinking of home audio delivery, featuring a powerful wireless audio transceiving system that can be built into a variety of home entertainment components, including DVD and Blu-ray players, HTiBs (Home Theaters in a Box), pre-amps, game platforms, televisions and A/V receivers.
Featuring advanced technologies and filters, Summit enables home audio systems to deliver high resolution, distortion-free audio with ease, using the newly opened 5GHz UNII band spectrum. Historically, setting up a home theater system could take a consumer all day to install or require hiring a professional. Now setup is as easy as placing the speakers in the desired location, turning on the power and pushing a button on the remote control to set the listening position. SpeakerFinder and MyZone technologies automatically locate each speaker’s position and enable users to set the audio sweet spot in seconds as opposed to hours. High-quality, programmable digital filters enables designers to optimize speaker performance for specific crossover, amplifier, driver, and cabinet characteristics. Summit technology will improve the overall speaker fidelity. Low cost speakers will sound better and high-end speakers will sound exceptional.
“We are excited to be the first Summit certified installer offering A/V receiver brands the ability to deliver high definition surround sound to consumers,” said S.H. Hyeon, Director of Oversea Sales, Anam Electronics. “We are committed to designing and delivering innovative products that meet and exceed customer expectations.”
“Summit creates a paradigm shift by solving the critical issues confronting consumers when trying to install a home theater surround sound system,” said Tony Parker, vice president of marketing for Focus Enhancements’ semiconductor group. “This partnership is further proof of the value of Summit technology.”
